Thought of the Day - 6/5/08

Today's thought is;
Even though I'm strongly opposed to organised fundamentalist religions, is Jesus relevant in modern society?

It would be easy to say no.. feeding 3000 people with a couple of loaves of bread and some fish.. thats just bad planning and a lotof optimism. They say it turned out ok, but where in the bible does it say he threw any other dinner parties after that disaster?

Sure, he attended a few, mainly to get murdered.

So, aside from being a bit dim obviously, his main redeeming feature was his alleged ability to turn water into wine. Are you serious? How could he not have abused that power? How come the bible has no recollection of him cracking on to Mary Magdalene and plying her with booze to loosen her up a bit?

Walking on water? Why would that ever be useful?
"just popping to the shops love!" 'splish, splish, splish'. Hardly practical, what a joker.

Useful abilities he could have had to be relevant would have been something like invisibility, super strength, night vision, Water treatment management, irrigation engineering, and the power effective farming. Obviously he was too pissed on his free plonk to be relevant.

But it would seem I'm wrong, Jesus totally gets modern life, see;
